Project Information
Project name: Widening the A9 motorway at Badhoevedorp Holendrecht
Date: 2020
Client: Dutch Department of Public Works
Location: Badhoevedorp - Holendrecht
Project Description
The Department of Public Works is widening the A9 motorway between the junctions at Badhoevedorp and Holendrecht to four lanes in each direction and is building an alternating lane. This will improve the traffic flow and thus the accessibility of the northern Randstad region. The quality of life in the area will also be enhanced. At Amstelveen, over a distance of 1.6 kilometres, the A9 will be sunk and covered in three places. At Ouderkerk aan de Amstel and Amstelveen, 14 kilometres of noise barriers will be installed along the motorway and extra quiet asphalt will be applied. The A9 Badhoevedorp-Holendrecht project is part of expanding the road between Schiphol, Amsterdam and Almere.
