The energy market is undergoing an enormous transition.

Conventional energy production is under pressure, whilst the development of wind, solar, hydrogen, nuclear and alternative production of electricity continues and is being scaled up.

This development is accompanied by risks and the related failure costs, not only during the development of a wind turbine or solar park for example, but certainly also during the operating phase.

By identifying these risks on time they can be avoided entirely or mitigation measures can be taken, thus guaranteeing the continuity and reducing costs.

Using the right experts during the design, construction and operating phase reveals the risks and makes it possible to avoid or limit them with mitigation measures, which are important factors for success. This know-how and experience is also essential in case of an unforeseen claim.

Risk analysis, mitigation measures and claims

Using the right experts is a precondition for success. Their know-how and experience is also essential in case of an unforeseen claim.

SOCOTEC has expert teams that specialise in various domains. The use of technology, data, practical knowledge of civil engineering, the impact on the surroundings and monitoring, mechanical and electrical know-how combined with experience during the design, construction and operating phases and in case of (damage) claims means that SOCOTEC is in a unique position, offering added value for our clients.

From development through to operation

SOCOTEC offers support during energy projects, from the (pre)development, during the construction and operating phase of the installations. Our civil engineers are involved in the geotechnical surveys and designing the foundations for wind turbines and distribution stations, crane hardstands, access roads and the routes of pipelines. The impact of the intended work on the surroundings and accompanying risks are also important preconditions for the design. In addition, our specialists offer assistance during the selection of the contractors until the end of the BAFO phase (Best And Final Offer). During the construction phase (BoP), we offer support in the areas of construction pit control, during pile-driving and drilling, inspecting the integrity of foundation piles, compaction tests of aggregates and road foundations, inspections of crane hardstands, etc.

During the operating phase we carry out various tests and inspections to guarantee the continuity of the installation.
