Claims Handling

Did you know that on average we manage to save over 25% - 40% on the (repair) costs associated with claims handling.

By using anonymized data from our files, the practical knowledge of our experts and our network, we know better than anyone else how to come up with economical and sustainable solutions with involved parties immediately after the event and in the follow-up process.

In doing so, we also make use of specific knowledge and data within the SOCOTEC Group in the Netherlands and abroad.

Claims Handling is focused on handling claims from notification to settlement, specifically designed to meet the needs of our clients.

By having your claim assessed by an expert from our organization, numerous aspects are examined and assessed in the context of any (insurance) agreement.

For example, we assess the facts surrounding the facts, recovery methodology, recovery costs, recourse possibilities and possibly policy coverage.

Our findings are reported based on the agreed kpi's, so that claims can be settled immediately.  If desired, we even settle the claims for you and you maintain control based on periodic audits of our supplied data.

The result of our cooperation saves you demonstrable labor and process costs, expertise costs and controls your claim burden.

We have been working this way successfully for years for Construction Project and Liability Insurers, Building and Contents Insurers, and Transportation Insurers, on a structural or project basis.

Our Way of Working

Prior to our work, we agree with you on the desired interpretation of our services, the kpi's, communication/reports and pricing (fixed price per case). The agreements are recorded in a cooperation agreement / Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Each case is registered in our system, after which the case is assigned to a team with specific knowledge and experience.

Our expert examines the documents underlying the case and conducts an investigation of the claim as assigned. If necessary, additional information is requested. In some cases, field work is required, which is deployed within our team of nationwide claims experts.

The expert analyzes and reviews the information obtained and advises client on settlement.

The reporting format agreed in advance with client provides concise information regarding:

  • parties involved,
  • relationships between parties,
  • relevant contracts between parties,
  • the incident that led to the damage,
  • external investigations, statements, etc.,
  • findings of the expert,
  • cause analysis,
  • mitigating measures,
  • extent of damage,
  • restoration methods
  • restoration costs,
  • liability issues,
  • other insurance and
  • recourse options.

Settlement with involved parties after reviewing criteria / policy review, if part of assignment.

“An accurate appraisal ensures that you are not under- or over-insured, which is crucial for a smooth and quick claim settlement and prevents unpleasant situations”
